Hilary Rosen
Hilary Rosen was born and educated in London, and urban living has influenced many of her works. Her watercolours of buildings, cafes, stations, markets and musicians reflect the general hustle and bustle of city life. Her interest in the geometric patterns of buildings is apparent in works such as City View. Rosen’s bold handling of the medium and vivid colours have been compared with German expressionist watercolours, but her art is gentler and less censorious.
