Vanessa Jackson
Vanessa Jackson was born in Surrey in 1953 and studied at Saint Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art. In 2015 she was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts. In the Royal Academy’s 2015 Summer Exhibition she won The Sunny Dupree Family Award for a Woman Artist.
Jackson has a distinctive abstract style in which she creates overlapping blocks of colour to create the illusion of depth. She follows in the strong tradition of British female abstractionists, and her colour palette ranges from bright lime greens to sombre navy blues.
